Climbing Courses
The following courses are being run this year by the Outdoor Education Service
If you wish to attend any of the courses, please download an information request form, (Click Here), complete it and send it to the Centre running the course.
All our climbing courses are staffed by fully qualified professional coaches and will be delivered in locations relevant to the course concerned. All specialist equipment and clothing such as waterproofs, boots, harnesses etc is provided by the Centre, however if you have your own equipment, you are always welcome to bring it with you.
The cost of all our courses includes full board and lodging, all instruction, transport whilst at the Centre and the loan of all equipment. For those staying residentially, all bed linen is provided, but please bring your own towels.

Touching Stone - An Introduction to Clmibing
An introduction to rock climbing for those without any previous experience. The course will be tailored to suit the applicants. This course will present climbing techniques and skills in a friendly and informal way, on the crags of the North York Moors.
Beginners Climbing
An introduction to rock climbing for those without any previous experience. The course will be tailored to suit the applicants. This course will present climbing techniques and skills in a friendly and informal way, on local crags in the Nidderdale area.
SPA Training
The national governing body award for climbing on single pitch climbs.
Pre Course Requirements
If you wish to attend this course you should be a member of the British Mountaineering Council, and be registered for the scheme.
Intermediate Climbing
This intermediate course offers the chance to progress to those applicants who already have some experience of climbing, or have attended our basic climbing course. This course will present climbing techniques and skills in a friendly and informal way, on local crags in the Nidderdale area.
SPA Assessment
Assessment for the national governing body award for climbing on single pitch routes.
Pre Course Requirements
You must have be a member of the British Mountaineering Council, completed the training before or obtained exemption from the BMC, have an up to date first aid certificate, and completed a log book.
