MIDAS
MiDAS is the national Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme, organised by the Community Transport Association U.K. (CTA). The CTA promotes a nationally recognised standard for the assessment and training of minibus drivers designed to enhance minibus driving standards and promote the safer operation of minibuses. The scheme is recognised and approved many organisations including
North Yorkshire County Council
The National Union of Teachers
The Driving Standards Agency
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents
Help The Aged
British Red Cross
The National Trust
North Yorkshire Outdoor Education Service is one of the many members of MiDAS and as such can offer MiDAS training and assessment courses for those needing a recognised certificate to prove they have passed a set standard of Minibus driving.
Course Requirements
As a result of European Union changes to driver licensing there are several issues surrounding these courses depending on the organisation that you are working or volunteering for. Please contact East Barnby for further advice.
Course Dates, Locations & Costs
We do not set dates for specific courses for MiDAS in preference for organising courses to suit our clients. If you have access to a minibus and would like us to come to your venue to deliver the course, we are more than happy to do this. Otherwise, once we have enough people wanting a course, we will organise a mutually acceptable date for the course to run.
