GCSE and A level field Studies
Why not use one of our centres as a base to deliver your field studies from?
Bewerley Park – The surrounding areas of Nidderdale and the Yorkshire Dales National Park lend itself to the study of Geography, Geology and Biology. For example schools have combined a few days’ outdoor activities with studies comparing the honey pot areas of Malham with other venues to give a week or half week residential.
East Barnby & Great Fryupdale – 150 million years ago, the North York Moors was a tropical sea bed. Today it’s rich with flora and fauna and a fantastic place to explore living and geological processes both past and present. Whether it’s studying the Jurassic fossils and rock strata on the coast, or following water as it journeys from source to sea, there’s lots of scope for scientific and geographical investigation. Some schools choose to combine filed studies with adventure and have journeyed the river Esk to Whitby by canoe, investigating features and processes along the way. Get in Touch
