New Hill and Mountain Skills Courses

Learn the skills you need stay safe in the Hills and Mountains with this nationally accredited scheme.

We are pleased to announce that we are now able to provide Mountain Trainings’ nationally accredited ‘Hill and Mountain Skills courses’.

Walking in the hills can be a daunting prospect if you have never done it before. To stay safe and enjoy your time on the hill you it is helpful to have some basic skills and expertise to guide you on your way. The Hill & Mountain Skills courses are designed to teach you just that.

There are two courses as part of the scheme: Hill Skills and Mountain Skills. Both are open to anyone aged 14 or over. The Hill Skills course is the introduction to Hillwalking and the Mountain Skills is a progression on from this.

This would also be an ideal skills top-up for someone taking part in a Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme expedition or similar venture.

You can read all about the scheme here.
