A leadership award for teachers and youth leaders.
The Countryside Leader Award is a North Yorkshire scheme providing training and assessment for those intending to lead groups in non remote, lowland countryside (e.g. for field work or Duke of Edinburgh Award Bronze expeditions.)
This residential course is an award designed as a self check and skill development opportunity for people who already have considerable experience working with young people. During the 2 day course we will cover a range of essential skills for group leaders including; navigation, planning, equipment, risk assessment & management, emergency procedures, access, weather.
Assessment will be integrated into the course and successful candidates will complete with the award. If it is felt that more development is required, our staff will help guide you towards further training so that you are able to complete the award at a later date.
