The visit has provided our children with the opportunity to take part in a range of outdoor activities and enabled them to develop skills that they would not otherwise have the opportunity to experience.

The staff have provided inspiring outdoor learning which has helped all children that we work with become successful, confident individuals, responsible and independent learners. A fantastic week!

Children learn those life skills of perseverance and resilience, their self-esteem and confidence grow as they participate in activities never tried before.

I had a fantastic time, even though at times it was really tough!

The challenges that East Barnby provides help students develop independence, self reliance and build self confidence which has a positive impact on their whole education.

The course was well planned and built up knowledge on progressive learning. It also created various accident scenarios at different locations around the campus, which our teams were expected to deal with.

The 16 hour (two day) course at East Barnby Outdoor Education Centre was excellent! It was informative and full of vital information but also very practical and covered many relevant scenarios in which we often find ourselves. The two instructors had very sound subject knowledge and imparted it well but were also able to make it fun and a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I am aware of how dry many first aid courses can be - this was NOT one of them! I can highly recommend this course.

The knowledge I gained on this course proved invaluable recently when one member of my group fell off his bike whilst travelling at speed, at the bottom of a very steep hill. Initially it was very shocking to see him lying on the ground in severe pain, but I had the confidence to remain calm and think through the sequence of steps needed to be taken to help him. Fortunately other people, and even passers by, rallied round and could be directed to different tasks. This was vital as we found there was no mobile phone signal in that location.

A home away from home...Great Fryupdale was the perfect location; a safe and relaxing environment for our year 10 students. After a busy day of activity it was really nice to be out in the countryside and have our own space to relax. The accommodation was an excellent standard with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable modern facilities.

The residential has by far exceeded my expectations. The activities were perfect for the age group and staff were fantastic at engaging the young people. The best I have seen in many years of residentials!

For all you aspirant Mountain Leaders out there I would highly recommend them for either your training or assessment. Cheap course fees, supporting a Local Authority Outdoor Centre, friendly & knowledgeable staff; whats not too like!

I just wanted to say thank you and your team so much for such a fabulous three days sailing course. Thy boys have absolutely loved it and are hopefully hooked !! They have learnt so much and had such a great time, I couldn't think of a better skill for them to have learnt this summer. As a parent I thought the organisation was fabulous and I could tell the boys were in great hands. Dave and Kate were brilliant and have kept will and Charlie interested and engaged for three days, for which I am very grateful. They will hopefully be up on some Saturday mornings and I'd love them to come back next year and do the course again.

The difference in coming to Bewerley Park is that you are using the activities as a tool for developing lots of soft skills. That is why we like it and keep coming back.

Just been to East Barnby to do forest school training. The course was brilliant and as was our instructor Paul. Can't wait to go back for the assessment. Just want to add that all the staff that I met were fab.

We love visiting East Barnby. It is an Outdoor Education Centre and that is what you get, real outdoor experiences. These can’t be artificially created. The Children gain so much from the experience and we wouldn’t do it any differently.

Adapting for the needs of all the children is amazing. The experience of the staff and their expertise is a key reason why we keep coming to BP. Non stop energy and enthusiasm of the staff always makes each group seem special. Instructors are allowed to do what is right for each group and the challenges they can achieve. Amazing encouragement to move out of comfort zones.
